Finca El Roble is located in the Tarrazu region of Costa Rica. The farm is run by Luis Fernando, his wife Maria Emilia, their son Luis, and daughters Paola and Karolina. This lot was processed as a honey coffee or pulped natural in which the coffee cherry is depulped and sent straight to a drying patio or raised bed, omitting the washing and fermentation that commonly occurs with fully washed coffees. El Roble coffee took 3rd place in the 2012 Costa Rican Cup of Excellence competition, recognizing the family as high quality Costa Rican coffee producers. We found this coffee to be intensely bright and floral with notes of lime, berry, an assortment of baking spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, clove), and a nutty, chocolate finish.
